It is said that women represent the largest disruptive force in business. Investing in women, and in gender diverse teams, presents a significant global business opportunity: Recent McKinsey research estimates that investing in women could add up to $28 trillion to GDP globally by 2025. Yet despite this, women persist in being the largest unserved market, with investment promoting gender diversity in businesses and in economies remaining marginal and often difficult to access, not least in Africa. This session will debate what these challenges are and why they still exist and above all, explore what needs to be done to enable the investment community to seize this opportunity.
