Breakout Session Getting Gender Smart: Unleashing the Power of Gender Equality | 2 April, 12.25-13.25, Library

In an era of #MeToo and #TimesUp, the need for gender equality continues to be high on the global agenda: the global gender pay gap remains wide; and many women still lack access to basic amenities such as education, health care, sanitation and decent work. In this context, Gender Lens investing is gaining rapid traction with institutional investors. How can they use a gender lens to mitigate risk and to unlock new opportunities? This session will provide context and examples of how to put gender smart commitments into practice; explore the financial and impact returns; and address how gender equality is an enabler and accelerator across all of the SDGs.
