GenderSmart was a global field-building initiative dedicated to unlocking the deployment of strategic, impactful gender-smart capital at scale, that merged with 2X Collaborative to become 2X Global in January 2023.
It unlocked gender-smart capital in several ways:
By translating gender finance insights across asset classes and geographies in our research, content, blog, and newsletter
By connecting senior investment influencers and thought leaders, intermediaries, and experts to the resources, tools, and people they need to advance their work
By building investor capacity at global Summits (watch Suzanne’s closing speech above), in working groups, and through partnership programming designed around the needs and challenges of the field. Current working groups include Climate and Gender Finance, and JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion).
Suzanne was the Co-Founder of GenderSmart, where in addition to overseeing the organisation she led the Climate and Gender working group, which has published numerous impactful reports communicating the value and urgency of integrating a gender lens into climate finance, and vice versa. Most recently, the group worked with Aviva’s Women in Finance Climate Action Group and 2X Collaborative to launch a call to action for the financial sector in advance of COP27.
