College And University Endowments Gender Lens Investing Initiative

Representing US$566 billion in global investment capital, college and university endowments are powerful institutional investors who are yet to be engaged in gender-smart investing.

Although research from Credit Suisse, Nordea, UBS, McKinsey, and others shows that investment strategies that employ a gender-smart lens perform equally as well or better than strategies that do not take gender into account, with a few exceptions, higher education fund managers are yet to recognise the power of addressing environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) risks and opportunities in their investments.

Catalyst At Large worked with the Intentional Endowments Network and over 40 stakeholders, including endowment committee members, senior university staff, alumni, fund managers, and consultants, to move college and university endowments towards Gender Lens Investing.
